Nasi Goreng is spicier than other Asian fried rice recipes. It is widely popular across Indonesia and neighbouring Malaysia. It is distinctive in flavour because of the use of kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) that creates the attractive golden brownish colour.

Back in Indonesia, it is often eaten as a breakfast. For others, the meal might feel too heavy. But the taste makes you gulp it down easily.
